Our services

Tītoko o te rangi, Whakawhiti o te rā, Whakaio whenua e

It is through our deliberate actions that we design our destiny

The programmes and services developed and delivered by Te Taumata are driven by the Ngāti Whakaue Life-Cycle Option. This is based on a philosophy that Iwi have an obligation to meet the needs of whānau, hapū and marae; and that the nature of tribal development is organic, cyclical and reciprocal. As such, our services are wide ranging.

Te Reo me Ngā Tikanga

Paepae Wānanga

We run wānanga to support members of the Ngāti Whakaue paepae and those who wish to learn more about the protocols required.

Te Reo o Whakaue – Ahikāroa

We deliver a range of te reo Māori programmes and this year, we will refresh the Ngāti Whakaue Reo Strategy.

Kete Pukapuka

We develop Whakaue resources in te reo Māori on topics relevant to Ngāti Whakaue.

Early Childhood Care and Education

Te Puna Manawa o Whakaue

Puna Manawa is the te reo Māori immersion ECE centre for 3 to 5 year olds.

Tiaho Tamariki

We provide support for whānau to enrol in ECE or Kohange Reo, and to transition to school.

Kia ora e te iwi

On behalf of the Taumata Board, it is with great pleasure we advise we have had notice from the Ministry of Education that the licence for Puna Manawa is reinstated (to provisional licence) from Monday 2 December.

We acknowledge we have some mahi to complete before we open the doors and welcome tamariki and whānau, and look forward to resuming operations very soon. As part of that mahi we are excited to welcome Erana Lacey back as our ECE lead and also acknowledge the support of a number of other highly respected early childhood education experts.

A very big thanks to everyone involved.
Nei te mihi ki a koutou.
